Dear Beloved Parishioners,
This weekend, the Church celebrates the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi, whose life continues to inspire Christians throughout the world. Francis lived simply, loved deeply, served the poor, cared for creation, and sought to follow Christ wholeheartedly.
His beautiful prayer, “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,” remains a powerful invitation for us today. In a world that longs for peace and hope, may we follow his example through kindness, generosity, forgiveness, and compassionate love for those in need. St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us!
We also welcome the month of October, traditionally dedicated to the Holy Rosary. I warmly encourage every parishioner to take this opportunity to pray the Rosary, especially within our families. If possible, let us make it a daily prayer throughout this month, asking Our Blessed Mother to draw us ever closer to her Son, Jesus.
Next week, October 5–8, our diocesan priests will gather with Bishop Lohse for the annual Diocesan Convocation at St. Peter Parish in Douglas, Michigan. Please keep our bishop and priests in your prayers as we come together for prayer, reflection, fraternity, and spiritual renewal.
We are also deeply grateful to all who generously serve in our parish ministries. We warmly invite parishioners who may be interested in serving as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion or Ushers/Greeters.
EMHC training and renewal sessions will be held on October 14, 21, and 28 at 7:00 p.m. Usher/Greeter training will be held on October 20 and 27 at 7:00 p.m. Please contact the Parish Office to indicate your preferred date.
Thank you for your generous service and for the many ways you help make our parish a welcoming and vibrant community of faith.
May God bless you and your families, and may you have a peaceful, joyful, and grace-filled weekend!
Very Rev. Albert Kemboi, V.F.
Pastor
